Shirley Ann Barber
decorative, fine artist
I was born and raised in Paris Ontario, and after retiring, I went to tole painting classes for fun. After three sessions it became part of my daily routine, and after supper each evening I painted for an hour.
I joined Kindred Spirits Artisans of Paris about 12 years ago, and became involved with the Christmas in Paris festival with one of my main subjects that I painted - Christmas ornaments, decorated with birds, butterflies, snowflakes, snowmen, teddy bears and many other subjects.
As a lover of art from a very young age, and since I live in Paris, a community with cobblestone architecture with two rivers running through it, there is never a shortage of subjects to paint. I ventured into using watercolour, acrylics and pen and ink about six years ago and I am now producing original pieces which have been for sale at Christmas in Paris and recently at the River Lily, downtown Paris.
Some of my works include The Old Town Hall, Autumn on the Grand, Seven Sisters - Seaford England, Chickadees in Birch Tree.
Shirley can be seen at the Winter Wonderland location this year.
